Ethereal Representation of Trees

Some people are good at art, naturally, and others need plenty of practice to reach the level they wish to achieve. I must be a little of both, because I've had to practice, and I've known some things without being taught. The greatest part about art is the exploration of the different types, for me; I had fun making these art pieces. They're simplistic and rather art nouveau.

The colored tree ones I gave a little white space to make it just a representation of what a real tree looks like, wile the monochromatic one at the bottom has just some black shadowing with a few dark branches to give it depth.

Through the Ages

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."
Hebrews 13:8

You might be wondering how that verse and this illustration of a stomp have to do with the other? Well it's quite simple, each layer in the tree is an amount of time. And it reminded me of that verse.

An Unexpected Drawing

Endurance is a key indicator of spiritual fitness.

~ Alistair Begg

A few days ago my sister, Nicole and I were having a drawing session, which involves getting pencils paper and something to enthuse us and almost immediately getting right down to work—there are no boundaries, no rules, you only need to keep your mind open and your eyes observant. Although that might sound really great occasionally it isn’t so great.

When we started, I didn’t feel motivated and didn’t have a drive to draw. At first it looked quite strange to my eyes, I had only passed a form of what I saw, a man’s figure sketchy without facial features or any other true details to be factual; then I looked at my sister’s representation, and I felt a moment of discouragement. She had been drawing as long as I had and had already made a perfect depiction of a DĂșnedain Ranger like those that protected Eriador in Tolkien’s Middle-Earth as it seemed to me, the figure gushed with passion so provocative.

I almost gave it up mine (a pattern I’ve seen in my life, the abandoning of things I no longer understand or have little interest to. It isn’t a good one). A moment passed, and then another. Then rapidly and much to my own surprise, a spark of resolution overcame me, I still didn’t feel inspired but I was fixed on finishing what I had started. I had no idea what I was drawing I just kind of let my mind's eye get the best of me and ended up with this.

Let me know what you think, i.e. leave a comment.
